Resumé of the first festival day

Even it was really rainy day yesterday, vibes on the festival are just great! And it looks, that today it will be even better, cause since yesterday 20:30 it stopped to rain. We hope that it will stay like this, even it´s a bit cloudy and cold. To the festival spot are arriving many musicians and selectors from Czech and Germany. Don´t forget to take something warm and ideally also waterproof shoes, you will enjoy it more :) Saturday´s line up on main stage is starting already at 12:30 with afro band Marimba Mama. At the same time stars also Dub Station, which is in the big tent..

One days to start!!

Reggae Meeting is coming closer very fast, from now on just two more days! And even if the weather forecast is not the best, don't miss it! Dancehall- and Dubstation plus Live stage, where will be performing 14 bands (incl. two foreign bands, you will find the program under LINE UP, first band performs on friday already at 17:30!), nice nature and a lake for swimming.... this fact is linked with some important information: it is necessary to clean the place, when you leave and not destroy the nature. For this reason we established the deposit-system for cups. That means, if you buy a drink, you have to pay 1Kč more for deposit, which you get back, if you bring back the cap. Also like last year, you will have to pay for parking (100czk) and camping(80czk). The entrance will be, as last year, voluntary. The recommended price is 200czk (7EUR). The whole festival costs a lot of money, so the voluntary entrance is essential for realising the festival. Thank you for understanding and we are looking forward to you!

More confirmed artists at 9th Reggae Meeting!

We have great news for you! Great singer King Kalabash from Big Famili is coming again and he will perform on friday for the first time backed by Riddimshot.. A must to see! Also we are enthusiastic about performances of Yellow Sisters & Magic band and Bug & Dub with fresh debut album! Unfortunately Hypnotix cancelled their show in the last minute, because of time reasons, but they will perform on Reggae Ethnic Session in Žizníkov and instead of them will come dubwise project from Berlin called Brain Theft!. With great pleasure we can also announce, that between confirmed bands are very talented czech projects as Dub Artillery, Homebwoy Rasta, Jahtec Jammin Job, Los Chuperos, 3XT and also afro project Marimba Mama..

Dub Station presents

Also this year will be a Dub Station in Točník with roots, dub and dubstep. For a big success will be new the production of Czech-German dub heads! The confirmed guest from Germany are: R.I.Z.L.A. Sound feat. Dj Superhorace, Käptn Esteban, Doc Jahbone & Highsteppa, Echomaniac Sound, Dubfish (Peacetime Sound), Esperanza Soundsystem, Free Roots Sound, I-Shen Sound, Dj Preceed (Nasdia Records) and Saxophonist Blow-E-Blow Waltman. On the confirmed Czech dub heads we are still working.

First confirmed bands

Finally we can announce, what will happen in the end of May in Točník. We have the first confirmed bands for you! Next to the Czech bands, such as Urban Bushman, Mr.Cocoman & Solid Vibes, Afrodisiak or Tribetown. Special guest will Jamaican artist: Joseph “Blue” Grant with his Stillcool band! Other bands will follow and there is also a dancehall- and dub station waiting for you..

Reggae Meeting vol. 9

Welcome to the New Year 2009, the year of the buffalo. We are preparing also this year the festival Reggae Meeting, this time with the magic number 9. After last years experiment of sunny-may weather, we moved the festival to the date 29-30th of May. But the place will be the same, the lovely area under the castle of Točník. You can already looking forward to 3 stages – concert stage, dancehall- and dub station. We are still working on the concrete bands. Meeting 08 was.. (02/06/2008)

Sound and lights of Reggae Meeting has been history already... It was a very lucky weather meeting - storm thundered around Tocnik but no raindrops but great background. This year line up was the most studded in the RM history - 17 home music groups and more than 40 selectors on Dancehall stage and in the roaring Dubstation tent .. Thanks to all musicians, singers, selectors and mcs for supporting reggae meeting vibrations and thanks to all the volunteers for a good work before, during and after meeting. And some people cleaned up the festival area and parking place all the hot sunday and monday -> respect!
